Helgi Eyford PhD

Dr. Helgi Eyford has lived and worked in nine countries and has taught cross-cultural communication for over 20 years. He has an abiding interest in how people adapt to new cultures. His Ph.D. thesis was entitled “The Acculturation of International Medical Graduates to Canadian Practice.” Helgi currently works as a clinical ethicist for Alberta Health Services in both acute care and community settings. He specializes in helping health care professionals with cross-cultural communication, culture shock, and ethics.

Dr. Helgi Eyford has a diverse background of successful experience in academia, the private sector, government, and health care. He is a widely respected speaker and facilitator who combines critical thinking, academic rigour, and social skills. He has both the energy and gravitas to facilitate safe, transparent and rigorous decision-making processes.
