Dr. Helena Sztajer is a highly motivated PhD graduate, principal investigator and head of laboratory at Helmholtz Research Centre for Infection Research (Germany). Having long experience in handling and solving all aspects of microbiology in health, food and waste-water industry as well as graduate students’ education. She has started her graduation from University of Wroclaw (Poland) - and persued Master of Science in Biology (Microbiology), Wroclaw, Poland, in 1973. Later on joined in Technical University of Wroclaw, Environmental Protection Engineering Institute – Ph.D. She worked as an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Wroclaw(Poland), Environmental Protection Engineering Instituteand Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry. She was granted a Fellowship from the British Council and British Royal Society and worked at Cranfield Institute of Technology, U.K. She has carried many lectures and practicals in Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology for students of Biotechnology over 16 years at Technical University of Wroclaw which resulted in many publications for students. At 1989 she has started to work as a scientist at Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research where she has supervised undergraduate and PhD students, technical assistance and guest scientists. Her last main topic was Oral microbiology and communication between microorganisms. She published 33 scientific publications in international scientific journal from 1976 to the present. She is a coauthor of patents and license and has taken an active part in numerous international conferences over a period from 1973 on.
