Helen Crowther is currently a Haematologist at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals as well as a Senior Lecturer in Haematology at the University of Western Sydney. Helen was a graduate of the first year of the Sydney University Graduate Medical Program and completed most of her post graduate training in Western Sydney. Following completion of her FRACP and FRCPA, she had the opportunity to spend some time in Toronto in the area of red cell disorders and thrombosis.
Helen Crowther is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the Centre for Values, Ethics and Law in Medicine, the University of Sydney where she is writing a thesis on the process of evidence integration in medical decision-making in patients with hemoglobinopathies. She has also undertaken research into the health, services, and quality of life of patients with hemoglobinopathies in NSW. Helen’s clinical interests include Red Cell disorders Thrombosis and Haemostasis and she helps coordinate these services in WSLHD.
