Heinke Adamczewski

Dr. Heinke Adamczewski is an Internist and Diabetologist in Cologne, Germany. She studied Medicine in Freiburg (Germany), Glasgow (UK), Lucerne, and Zurich (Switzerland). Following an Internship in Radiology in Freiburg, she went to the USA, where she completed her Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at a Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland with the Board Exams in Internal Medicine. Following her German qualification as an Internist, she specialized in Diabetology in Cologne, Germany and since 2001 works together with four colleagues in her own private practice. While this Practice is specialized in care for people with diabetes, Dr. Adamczewski focuses on pregnant women with diabetes type I, type II, or gestational diabetes. She and her team take care of more than 350 pregnant women with diabetes per year. Also, she works on interdisciplinary communication, benchmarking, quality control, and local networking in an effort to improve care for this group of patients.
