Heidi Lynch is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology at Point Loma Nazarene University. She received her Master of Science (MS) in Human Nutrition from Arizona State University. Dr. Lynch's research focuses on the effect of plant-based diets and plant protein on physical health, athletic performance, and environmental sustainability. Her interest in plant-based diets is based on a desire to encourage people to eat in environmentally sustainable ways. Her current work involves validating vegan and vegetarian "Athlete Plates" (tools to help guide athletes about making proper dietary choices). Dr. Lynch has served on the board for Professionals in Nutrition for Exercise and Sport (PINES) and is on the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group's policy committee.
