Dr. Heidi Bridget Kohltfarber is a visiting scholar in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Diagnosis, Radiology and Pathology at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, California. She received her D.D.S. degree from Loma Linda University in 2003 and became an assistant professor at Loma Linda University as well as an associate in private practice.
She received her master's degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2012. She received an NC Tracks Grant in November 2009 for research exploring salivary biomarkers in diabetic patients and a Future Faculty Fellowship in May 2011. Her master's research compared 2D versus 3D radiography in the treatment planning of root canal treated teeth with periapical lesions. Dr. Kohltfarber is a PhD candidate at King's College London focusing on Validation and Diagnostic Efficacy of 3D Surface Models in Dentistry: Temporomandibular Joints. She is currently the managing oral and maxillofacial radiologist for Dental Radiology Diagnostics and a Sirona 3D trainer.
