Heather Hume

Dr. Hume holds a doctorate in medicine from Queen's University (Kingston, ON) and a pediatric and hematology certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She completed her fellowship in immuno-hematology at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie and at the National Center for Blood Transfusion in Paris, France.

Since 1985, Dr. Hume has been a member of the Division of Hematology / Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center (CHU-SJ), Montreal, Canada. From 1985 to 2000, she was a full-time member; At the same time, she was Medical Director of the Hospital Transfusion Service and Comprehensive Care Program for Thalassemia and Haemoglobinopathies.
