Heather Dial MA, PhD

Dr. Heather Raye Dial is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Houston. His primary research interests are in the cognitive and neural processes supporting speech perception and language comprehension in stroke-induced and primary progressive aphasia, as well as processes supporting the recovery of these functions in these populations.

She completed his PhD in the Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience research group in the Psychology Department at Rice University under the guidance of Dr. Randi Martin and a postdoctoral fellowship in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Dr. Maya Henry, with co-mentorship provided by Dr. Bharath Chandrasekaran at the University of Pittsburgh.
