Heather Deehan is the Chief, Vaccines in the Supply Division, UNICEF. Prior to joining UNICEF, Heather was the Chief, Vaccine Preventable Diseases with the Public Health Agency of Canada, responsible for monitoring and surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases to support prevention and control of outbreaks, recommendations for the use of vaccines, and evaluation of immunization programs in Canada.

Heather has also worked in the areas of immunization registries and immunization coverage surveillance, including the development of a Vaccine Inventory Database System to support the introduction of automated identification of vaccine products to support vaccine inventory management, investigation in the event of an adverse event following immunization (vaccine safety) and immunization coverage surveillance. Heather has also worked in Pandemic Preparedness and Response, contributing to efforts in Canada to control and mitigate the response to pandemicH1N1 2009.
