Heather Ann-klee Ascani MBA, PhD

Dr. Ascani is the Director of Operations for Michigan Kidney Translational Medicine Core (MiKTMC) in the division of Nephrology at the University of Michigan. She holds an MBA in International Business and did her Ph.D. studies in Technology Management. Currently leading the business development, project management, and financial operations functions of the MiKTMC, her experience with business strategy in the pharma, biotech, and academic sectors allowed her to implement several models for instituting diverse, contractual research projects. Additionally, she was instrumental in establishing the Renal Public Private Partnership (RPC2), a Consortium bringing together five leading pharma companies in the first Public-Private Partnership Network at Michigan Medicine. All of these agreements contribute substantially to the Core’s current portfolio of public-private partnerships around the world.
