Dr. Hayley D. Mark is the Nursing Department Chair at Towson University’s College of Health Professions. Prior to her position at Towson, she spent 12 years at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing where she held a variety of positions, working her way up from assistant professor to associate professor and director of the school’s baccalaureate program. Prior to joining JHU as a faculty member, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship with the university’s preventative medicine and public health program and spent three months working at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mark earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1993 from John Hopkins University, her Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, and her master’s degree in nursing in 2004 from JHU. She began her career as a staff nurse in radiation oncology at Duke University Medical Center before becoming a public health nurse with the Durham County Health Department. Mark then moved into administrative roles before completing her fellowship and stepping into academia full-time.
