In 2010 she moved to the Centre for Molecular & Cellular Biology of Inflammation where this work was further developed in close collaboration with Professor Frederic Geissmann.

In 2013 Hayley moved to the University of Oxford to work with Professor Lars Fugger. Here she established the use of CRISPR in the laboratory before specialising in single-cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq.
