Dr. Haya Altawalah is the Consultant Clinical Virologist, Assistant Professor at Kuwait Medical School. As a virologist, she is very passionate about the One Health concept. It is a worldwide strategy for expanding interdisciplinary collaborations and communications in all aspects of health care for humans, animals, and the environment. Currently, she is focusing on studying the molecular evolution of MERS-CoV in Kuwait. This is a very good example of the One Health concept. In the light of SARS-CoV evolution, once the real reservoir was identified, a sharp decline in the reported human cases was achieved. They are doing their best to identify this potential reservoir for MERS. Despite their results and others about the potential roles of dromedary camels in the evolution of MERS, The exact roles of camels have not been explored yet.
