Hassan Rayaz MD

Dr. Hassan Rayaz is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is acute pain management, enhanced recovery after surgery, and regional anesthesiology.

Dr. Rayaz serves as the Director of Regional Anesthesiology for Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also serves as Director of Orthopedic Anesthesiology, Associate Program Director for the Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Fellowship at Johns Hopkins, and is a member of the ACCM residency clinical competency committee. He received his undergraduate degree in International Studies from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he also completed his residency in anesthesiology. He completed his fellowship in regional anesthesiology and acute pain at Yale University.

Dr. Rayaz was named Teacher of the Year in the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Fellowship in 2018 and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society for Education in Anesthesia, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
