Prof. Hassan Azaizeh is an alumnus of The the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Agriculture, Rehovot, Israel with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture - Plant Pathology and a Masters of Science from the same institute specializing in Microbiology and Plant Pathology and has a PhD from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas A&M, the USA from the Department of Microbiology specializing in Toxicology. During his studies, he engaged in a number of studies and research projects related to a variety of fields such as microbiology, chemistry, soil sciences, biochemistry, environmental biotechnology, water and waste treatment, renewable energy and toxicology, and others. Since 1995, he has served as an active member of the Galilee Society and a senior researcher for its Institute of Applied Research in subjects concentrating on the production of natural plant extracts for the treatment of various illnesses, biological pest and worm control as well as various studies pertaining to water and wastewater treatment through the use of a variety of biotechnological methods.

The list of his published articles since his appointment as a senior lecturer include articles related to environmental biotechnology, water and waste treatment, plant extract production for the treatment of various illnesses and pests, and microbiological biodegradation of Xenobiotic substances in the soil as well as advanced production of unique biological substances from what is considered waste products such as olive mill wastewater (OMW) or olive mill solid waste(OMSW). Additionally, he has attended dozens of national and international conferences during which I have lectured and written a number of abstracts pertaining to the relevant fields.
