Harvey Makadon MD, FACP

Harvey J. Makadon, MD is a Professor of Medicine (part time) at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Makadon is the lead editor of The Fenway Guide to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health, published by the American College of Physicians. A second edition was published in 2015. In addition to writing numerous articles and chapters related to LGBT health, he served on the Advisory Committee to the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in the preparation of The Health of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People: Building a Foundation for Better Understanding published in March, 2011. He was the Director of the National LGBT Health Education Center at the Fenway Institute from 2011-2017.
