Harun Fajkovic MD

Dr. Harun Fajkovic is a Deputy Head at the Department of Urology at the Medical University of Vienna. He received his medical degree at the Medical University of Vienna in 2005 and completed his urology residency training in the Department of Urology, Universitätsklinikum St. Pölten, Austria. He is certified by the Austrian Board of Urology and received the Certification from the European Board of Urology (F.E.B.U.). Dr. Fajkovic pursued his fellowship training in Urologic Oncology at the Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, USA. Afterward, he joined the Department of Urology at the Medical University of Vienna, Vienna General Hospital and currently, he is the executive director of the department. Dr. Fajkovic has wide expertise in urologic oncology with a main interest in minimally invasive surgery. Currently, he is doing a master of science in gender medicine at the Medical University of Vienna. He is an active member of various academic societies, a journal reviewer, and a grant reviewer for numerous national and international organizations. He has published more than 102 peer-reviewed research papers (h-index: 28; the total number of citations: 2404), over 30 non-peer-reviewed research papers, and two book chapters. He is also the recipient of various national and international rewards. He is currently a member of several collaborative multicenter groups such as the Bladder Cancer Research Consortium, The Bladder Cancer Detection Group, and The Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma Collaboration.
