Dr. Harpa Helgadottir received a BS degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Iceland in 1991 and Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine in 2000; in addition to earning her Master of Health Science degree in 2005. In 2006, she enrolled in the PhD program in BioMedical Science at the University of Iceland and defended her thesis in 2010.
Dr. Helgadottir has completed research about the spine and shoulder girdle and published original articles on the subject in scientific jour- nals*. She has worked as a physical therapist since 1991 and founded a treatment center in 1996; specializing in physical training for patients with neck and back disorders using an exercise approach. She is currently the sole owner and one of six physical therapists at the center which is located in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Over the past 30 years Dr. Helgadottir has been developing her own approach, using her clinical experience and strengths utilizing a variety of methods and techniques. She has been teaching courses at the University of Iceland since 2001 and University of St. Augustine since 2013, as well as conducting international seminars.
