Harald Hartweger, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor at Rockefeller University in New York City. An immunologist focused on B lymphocytes by training, Harald is interested in understanding the development of immune responses and how they can be engineered and harnessed for clinical benefit, in particular, antibody responses. He is a pioneer in the nascent field of B-cell gene-editing, showing specific antibody responses by bNAb gene-edited B cells in vivo. He has also worked on developing HIV-1 vaccination and cure strategies, leading to several HIV-1 vaccine candidates.
