Hany Takla MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABS-FPMBS

Dr. Hany Takla is a board-certified surgeon at the Orlando Health Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Institute in Orlando, Florida. He specializes in bariatric and general surgery, with expertise in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, foregut and reflux surgery, hernia repair, and abdominal wall reconstruction. He has performed more than 1,600 robotic procedures and over 500 weight-loss surgeries.

Dr. Takla earned his medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine in Egypt. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Washington Medical Center and UMass Memorial Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Banner–University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and holds the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Focused Practice Designation.

His professional memberships include the American Hernia Society, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in surgery by Boston Magazine for two consecutive years.
