Hans completed his medical training and gastroenterology degree at the Universities of Padua (Italy) and Heidelberg (Germany). Before relocating to Australia he worked for 5 years as a consultant gastroenterologist in Switzerland. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2007 and has since worked at the Nambour General Hospital as a consultant gastroenterologist and director of gastroenterological services.
One of his passions is ensuring the delivery of the highest quality services to patients and one of his most rewarding achievements was the planning and implementation of the state of the art endoscopy suites at Nambour General Hospital. He is dedicated to the delivery of high quality services to both public and private patients as such opened Coastal Digestive Health on the Sunshine Coast. He has now established a research centre at the practice, and together with the Sunshine Coast University will offer new treatment options, in the way of clinical trials, to patients.
Hans is fully accredited by the Conjoint Committee of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) as an interventional gastroenterologist. His special interest lies in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, ERCP, Capsule Endoscopy (Pillcam), PEG feeding tube insertion, liver biopsy and stenting of the esophagus, duodenum, bile ducts and large bowel.
