Hans H. Linden graduated in 1971, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Uppsala University, Sweden. 1971-1986 he was Head of the Department of Educational Programmes of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society/Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Stockholm, Sweden, including international events.

From 1986 through 1991 he was Head of the Department of Studies and Analysis and Deputy Managing Director of the Society/Academy. He engaged himself, particularly, in research on patient drug information, and on public risk perception of medicines. In 1980, he was appointed Secretary-General of the Swedish Medicines Information and Communication Council, established the same year, by the government, a position held for 16 years. In the first half of the 1990ies, he chaired, in parallel, a governmental Working Party on IT security for the public sector in Sweden.

Hans H. Linden became engaged in the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS), in 1994, as Assistant Secretary-General, also based in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2001, he assumed the position as full-time Secretary-General, a position he held through 2011 as Executive Director when retiring.

Currently, he is the Leader of European Projects in EUFEPS (2012- ), a Member of the EUFEPS Senate (2012- ), and a Strategic Advisor (2013- ) to the EUFEPS Executive Committee. Since 2012, he is Senior Project Coordinator, Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences, Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden.

Over the years, he actively engaged in international and global collaboration as well as in a number of European FP5, 6, and 7 projects, and in the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) Education and Training. He is the EUFEPS representative in PharmaTrain Work Packages on course quality, program extension into the New Member States, and future strategy, respectively. In SafeSciET he is the Leader of the Work Package on needs and sustainability. He is chairing the IMI Cross Project Task Force Communication, Member of the IMI Cross Project Task Force Quality, and active in EMTRAIN On-course and Life Train, respectively.
