Hans-christian Kolberg MD

Dr Hans-Christian Kolberg has been the Senior Consultant at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Marienhospital in Bottrop (Academic Teaching Hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen) since 2005 and had been the Lead Consultant and Head of the Breast Centre of the Lubeck University Women’s Hospital up to that point.

He is a member of several national and international specialists’ associations, collaborates on the Scientific Advisory Committee of Breast Cancer Germany (Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.) and has been the deputy representative of the Association of Certified Breast Centres since 2016. In addition, Priv.-Doz. Dr Kolberg regularly publishes articles in eminent specialist journals, delivers lectures nationally and internationally, primarily on the subject of breast cancer, and is an investigator in countless breast cancer studies, and is the Visiting Professor of Breast Surgery at the First School of Clinical Medicine in Nanking in China.

PD Dr Kolberg specialises in the treatment of malignant cancer conditions of the female breast and of the female genitalia. Further emphases are the treatment of prolapse and incontinence, as well as the treatment of fibroids. Because of his conviction that therapeutic approaches should be de-escalated wherever possible, his specialist fields also include high-focus ultrasound treatment of fibroids and fibroadenomata, as well as intra-operative radiotherapy for breast cancer.
