Dr. Kahleova is an accomplished endocrinologist, researcher, author, and speaker who has spent the last fifteen years researching the most effective ways to improve metabolism and reverse diabetes. She has conducted multiple nutrition research studies and has authored and co-authored more than 60 original papers that have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. 

Dr. Kahleova also serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, including Diabetes Care; the British Journal of Nutrition; Nutrition, Metabolism, and Cardiovascular Diseases; and the Journal of the American College of Nutrition. As a board member of the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes and as a member of the American Diabetes Association, she participates in the publication of systematic reviews and meta-analyses used as references for nutritional recommendations for patients with diabetes. After completing her postdoctoral fellowship at Loma Linda University in California, for the last 6 years, she has been serving as director of clinical research at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Kahleova is the author of the book Vegetarian Diet in the Treatment of Diabetes (Maxdorf, 2013, Prague, Czech Republic) and a contributing author to the book Vegetarian and Plant-Based Diets in Health and Disease Prevention (Academic Press, 2017). She has been formally recognized for her work with awards from several organizations.

Dr. Kahleova has presented at multiple international conferences, both for healthcare professionals (such as the American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions, the International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine, International Symposium on Diabetes and Nutrition, and others) and for lay audiences, ranging from small groups to audiences of 20,000. She is a regular guest on the Exam Room Podcast with Chuck Carrol, which has now been downloaded more than 7 million times. She has also appeared in two documentaries, iThrive - Rising From The Depths of Diabetes and Obesity, and Code Blue.
