Dr. Hamza Hashmi, MD, is a hematologist-oncologist and cellular therapy specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York, where he serves as an Assistant Attending Physician on the Myeloma and Cellular Therapy Service. He earned his medical degree (MBBS) from King Edward Medical University and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University, followed by fellowships in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Louisville and in Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Immunotherapy at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute.

Dr. Hashmi specializes in the comprehensive care of patients with multiple myeloma and other plasma-cell disorders, including monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), smoldering myeloma, and light chain (AL) amyloidosis, employing therapies such as chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant, CAR T-cell therapy, and novel immunotherapies.

He is deeply committed to patient-centered care, combining clinical expertise with compassion and collaboration in treatment decision-making, and his research focuses on advancing new treatment modalities and understanding cancer-immunotherapy interactions to overcome resistance in multiple myeloma. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hashmi is actively involved in clinical trials and has received multiple awards for his contributions to research and patient care. Outside of medicine, he enjoys storytelling through photography.
