Hagay Shemesh DMD, PhD

Dr. Hagay Shemesh is a tenured Associate Professor of the division of endodontology in ACTA, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He received his DMD degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Israel in 1990 and a specialty diploma in Endodontics from the same faculty in 2000. He then immigrated to the Netherlands and started teaching the undergraduate endodontic course at the Academic Centre for dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). He then started his Ph.D. project and graduated in 2009 cum laude from the University of Amsterdam defending his Ph.D. thesis “new insights into the root canal wall”. Since 2006 he also has had a practice limited to endodontics in Amsterdam. Dr. Shemesh edited a book on CBCT in endodontics and wrote more than 50 scientific publications. He is the Dutch representative of the European Association of Endodontology, a member of the scientific committee of the Dutch Society of Endodontology, and a member of the scientific referee board of the Journal of Endodontics and the International Endodontic Journal.
