Hunt Batjer, M.D., has always aimed high. As a boy growing up in San Angelo, he had visions of shutouts and perfect games and wanted to become either a pro baseball pitcher or a brain surgeon. When an injury to his left arm derailed his southpaw ambition, he pursued the other one and is now decidedly a big league player in the medical field.
Dr. Batjer entered UT Southwestern as a medical student; he recently capped an illustrious career by becoming chair of UT Southwestern’s Department of Neurological Surgery.
