Gun Forsander MD, PhD

Gun Forsander is an Associated professor of Pediatrics at the Institute of Clinical Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She is the Research Head of the Division of Diabetes, The Queen Silvia Children Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden.
She is an experienced supervisor of PhD students and gives regular lectures for medical and dietitian students as well as for nurses and layman groups, such as parents of and patients with diabetes. Clinics has always been a deep interest but during the years an extensive academic network has also been built up. The pediatric diabetes clinic was one of the first to receive a certificate as a Centre of Reference within Sweet study. Gun is now one of the members of the Sweet scientific board.
Gun Forsander is a member of ISPAD since 1996 and has participated in all annual meetings but one since then. She was an elected member of the Advisory Board 2005-2007 and the President of the annual meeting in Gothenburg 2013. She contributes as an author in the earlier as well as in the last, updated ISPAD Guidelines.
