Dr. Gul Moonis is affiliated with Harvard Medical School. She supervises residents at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital for HMS. Dr. Moonis has extensive experience working with multiple sclerosis and brain tumors and is also familiar with protocoling and analyzing computed tomography angiographies and MRIs. Among other daily responsibilities, Dr. Gul Moonis interprets an average of 50 MRI and CT scans per day and oversees myelography and lumbar punctures administered by residents. She has special expertise in reading images related to diseases of the ears, nose, and throat. Dr. Gul Moonis has earned several prominent honors over the course of her career, including the Wallace T. Miller Award for Excellence in Radiology Resident Teaching from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She has supervised many trainees in preparing presentations for national and international radiology conferences. Dr. Gul Moonis has further distinguished herself by conducting significant research in her field and sharing her findings with her peers. She has presented on such topics as Alzheimer's disease, skull base imaging, and cochlear dysplasias at medical facilities throughout Massachusetts. In addition, she has accepted invitations to speak at other facilities around the country, including Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Hartford Hospital, and the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Gul Moonis has also published her research in a host of medical journals, and she currently serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the American Journal of Neuroradiology, the Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, and others. Dr. Gul Moonis has trained in radiology and neuroradiology at the Medical University of Ohio, and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is certified by The American Board of Radiology with a certificate of added qualification in Neuroradiology.
