Guillermo Zohar Martinez-perez PhD

Guillermo Z. Martinez-Perez (Madrid, 1979) holds a Ph.D. in Health Sciences. He completed a Degree in History, Nursing & Podaitry, and an MSc in Telemedicine. In 2009, he quit clinical work and traveled to Uganda where he conducted his first ethnography in Africa. Since then, he’s alternated between managerial, education, and research positions in The Gambia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Nutrició Sense Frontieres, UNAIDS, ISGlobal, Médecins sans Frontières, Saragossa University, and FIND Global alliance for diagnostics, are among the institutions he’s worked with. His areas of expertise include eHealth; health economics; HIV/STD prevention and self-diagnostics technologies; sex and gender research on/with vulnerable key populations, and traditional genital modifications. Guillermo is the President of AfWORO.
