Guillermina Noel BDes, MDes, PhD

Dr. Guillermina Noël is the health knowledge designer and lead of the Health Innovation Studio (HIS) in the PLP office at the University of Alberta. Guillermina applies a human-centered, evidence-based, and outcomes-oriented design approach to improve healthcare. She holds a Ph.D. in Design Sciences from the University IUAV of Venice, Italy, and a Master of Design from the University of Alberta, Canada. Over the last thirteen years, she has been doing research with healthcare professionals, researchers and managers to reduce antibiotic overuse, change nutritional habits, improve safety in hospitals, and communicate best practices to healthcare practitioners. She is also the director of the Health Design Network.
