Dr. Guido M. Kamphuis studied medicine from 1998 to 2005 at the Free University in Amsterdam. He was educated in the Zaans Medical Center, Our Lady Hospital in Amsterdam and the Academic Medical Center. As of January 2013 he is working as a urologist at the AMC.
His area of ??interest is endogenous urology. This is a so-called ureterorenoscoop, an instrument with a camera, looked into the ureter and kidney. He is particularly interested in the treatment of kidney stones and urothelial carcinoma of the ureter and kidney. His current research focuses on these areas.
During the last year of his training he did internships at Hopital Tenon, Paris, by Professor Olivier Traxer and Professor Stephan Michel in the Universitats Klinikum Mannheim. In both clinics, he has gained expertise in the endo urology, for the treatment of stones and urinewegtumoren.
He has also participated in several masterclasses endo urology, together with Prof. Traxer and Prof. de la Rosette.
