Guenda Bernegger was born in Lugano, Switzerland. She studied philosophy in Lausanne and Berlin. She holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Humanities at the University of Insubria and a Master’s Degree in Social and Community Theatre at the University of Turin. She currently teaches Ethics and works as a researcher at the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). Furthermore, she is editor-in-chief of the rivista per le Medical Humanities (www.rivista-rmh.ch), published by the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale.
She is vice-president and one of the co-founders of the European Society of Aesthetics and Medicine. She was sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation, by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences, as well as by the Canton of Ticino to conduct research in the fields of medical anthropology and of Medical Humanities.
