Gregory LaRosa, Ph.D., is Senior Director of Virtual Drug Discovery in the Rare Disease Research Unit, at Pfizer. A part of Greg’s responsibilities is identifying, evaluating, and managing external collaborations in the RDRU portfolio. In the last year and a half at Pfizer, Greg has led the deal teams for the acquisitions of the Repligen SMA and the Gliknik GL-2045 assets and for the genetic obesity drug discovery collaboration with IRICoR. Greg received a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, and has over 25 years of experience in inflammation and rare disease drug discovery and development.

Greg’s teams have delivered 4 new Development Candidates that entered a clinical trial. Prior to joining Pfizer in July 2012, Greg served as President and CSO at BIKAM Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Cambridge, MA. At BIKAM, Greg led the internal team charged with the discovery and validation of novel small molecule pharmacological chaperones for the treatment of one form of retinitis pigmentosa. Prior to BIKAM, Greg was Vice President of Discovery Research at Critical Therapeutics, Inc., Lexington, MA, Senior Director of Immunopharmacology at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and held several senior research positions at LeukoSite, Inc., a biotechnology company in the Boston area.
