Dr. Gregory Bond founded Manitou View Consulting in 2014 shortly after his retirement from The Dow Chemical Company after a successful 35-year career. For more than 15 years (1996-2012), Greg was Corporate Director of Product Responsibility for Dow and led its global product safety, compliance, and sustainability organization, including the toxicology and environment fate laboratories. In this role, he had administrative responsibility for an organization of 300 full-time Dow professionals and approximately 100 contractor employees and managed an annual expense budget of more than $100MM and an annual capital budget that exceeded $3.5MM.
Greg frequently presented to Dow’s Board of Directors and the Executive Management team on a variety of topics ranging from efforts to comply with the EU REACH legislation to TSCA reform to risk and issue management associated with specific products and operations.
From March 2006 until December 1, 2008, Greg held the additional role of Asia Pacific EH&S Director and was based in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. During this period, Greg built the local EH&S organization from 5 employees to more than 30 and led the region to achieve its strongest historical performance in personal, process, and product safety.
From 2007 to 2013, Greg co-chaired the International Council of Chemical Association’s Chemicals Policy and Health Leadership Group which aimed to improve the product safety performance of the global chemical industry. He was the recipient of the 2009 American Chemistry Council’s Distinguished Leadership Award in recognition of this work. He has done frequent print and visual media interviews on behalf of Dow and the global chemical industry on the topics of chemical management policy and performance.
