Dr. Lipman is a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director of the Wilderness Medicine Section & Wilderness Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Wilderness Medical Society and is currently Chair of the WMS Research Council. Dr. Lipman was the founder of the WMS GME Committee and was previously the Chair of the American College of Emergency Physician's Section of Wilderness Medicine. Dr. Lipman has authored more than 50 scientific articles in peer reviewed publications with a research focus on interventional trials in extreme environmental conditions, including high altitude and desert ultramarathons. Dr. Lipman has worked as an expedition doctor on 6 continents, written 3 books, and recently completed his first 50 mile ultramarathon.
