Dr. Grant McFadden, a professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology in the College of Medicine, stopped by this month’s Cancer Connections at HealthStreet to discuss Oncolytic cancer. He discussed in his presentation how viruses interact with the host immune system to treat human cancer.

Dr. McFadden is currently a Professor at Arizona State University and is the Director of the Biodesign Center for Immunotherapy, Vaccines, and Virotherapy (B-CIVV). He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal PLoS Pathogens, a Senior Editor at Journal of Virology, and was the President of the American Society for Virology 2015-16. Dr. McFadden's lab studies how poxviruses that cause immunosuppression interact with the host immune system.
