The Tuebingen Ageing and Tumour Immunology Group (TATI) compares and contrasts immune status in the context of chronic antigenic stress in elderly people and cancer patients. The Medical Research Centre focuses on the understanding of T cell dysfunction in these two groups with an aim to intervene to restore appropriate immunity. The head of the group, Prof. Dr Graham Pawelec, has a long history of experience integrating multidisciplinary research, peer-review thereof, and co-organising international conferences on immunology, cancer and ageing. He is on the editorial boards of several ageing journals and is Editor-in-Chief of Cancer Immunology Immunotherapy (2006 Impact Factor 4.3).
