Dr Gowri is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Specialist in Foetal Medicine, and the Associate CMO for Women’s and Paediatrics at King’s College Hospital, Dubai. She graduated from Melbourne University Australia, and in 2007 completed her training to be a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London (CCT), with her speciality in Maternal Medicine and Foetal Medicine. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and underwent 3-year research, training and certification in the sub-speciality of Foetal Medicine with Professor Nicolaides at King’s College Hospital in the UK. She holds the Diploma in Foetal Medicine from the Foetal Medicine Foundation UK and the Joint Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound from the Royal College of Radiologists and RCOG UK.

Dr Gowri has 20 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, having worked in Malaysia, UK and UAE. Over the last 10 years in the UAE, her career progressed from being a Consultant to the Director of Foetal Medicine at Corniche Hospital Abu Dhabi (2007-2014), Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Head of Foetal Medicine at Danat Al Emarat Hospital Abu Dhabi (2014-2016), to Chair of Women’s Services at Danat Al Emarat Hospital (2017). She has received Medical Distinction awards as well as a Royal awarded Excellence Award by the UAE Genetic Disease Association in Abu Dhabi. Dr Gowri has a keen interest in teaching and was the preceptor for the Foetal Medicine ATSM (Advanced Training Skills Module) by the RCOG, the first accredited by the College outside the UK. She continues her active involvement in teaching by regularly speaking in conferences nationally.
