Dr. Gláucia Maria Moraes de Oliveira, MD, MSc, PhD, FESC, FAAC is an Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine (FM) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She performs teaching, research, and assistance activities in the areas of undergraduate and graduate studies at the FM of UFRJ. She is the Coordinator of the Master's and Doctoral Courses of the Postgraduate Course in Cardiology at UFRJ. She is a Permanent Professor of the Post-Graduate Course of Cardiology at UFRJ since 2006, until the present date, directing several Master's dissertations and Doctoral theses, in the area of Cardiovascular Diseases. She has the title of Specialist in Cardiology and Echocardiography granted by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC) and the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB), and the title of Specialist in Intensive Medicine granted by the Brazilian Intensive Medicine Association and AMB. She attended the Medical Residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Hospital dos Servidores do Estado, having the title of Specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, conferred by the Federal Council of Medicine. She has a Master's degree in Internal Medicine, a concentration area in Cardiology, and a PhD in Cardiology from UFRJ. She is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Past President of the Federation of Portuguese-Speaking Societies of Cardiology (FSCLP- Biennium 2016-2017). She is also a Financial Director of SBC (2016-2017 Biennium) and President of the Department of Clinical Cardiology of the Society of Cardiology of the State of Rio de Janeiro (SOCERJ-Biennium 2016-2017). She was president of SOCERJ (Biennium 2012-13), president of the Department of Coronary Disease of SOCERJ, Director of Publications of SOCERJ, Editor of the Revista da SOCERJ and Coordinator of New Projects and the Corporate University of SBC. Author of books, book chapters, and several articles published in national and international scientific journals. He participated in scientific guidelines in the areas of Chagas Disease and Cardiovascular Prevention. She was an Associate editor of the International Journal of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia. He received awards for Free Themes presented at National Congresses for the Best Original Work in the Area of Epidemiology, and for being the most active Reviewer of the Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia. He works mainly in the following areas: epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, nutrition in cardiology, atherosclerosis, cardiointensivism, echocardiography, and telemedicine.
