Gladys Wong graduated with Bachelor of Science with Honours and Masters in Human Nutrition in New Zealand. She is a NZ Registered Dietitian, trained and worked in New Zealand hospitals, and is also an Accredited Dietitian of Singapore with the Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association (SNDA). She was a Lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic, before returning to clinical dietetics at Alexandra Hospital.
She was visiting dietitian to Institute of Mental Health for > 3 years. Gladys is currently a full lecturer of School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Flinders University, Australia. She is a Affiliate member of the Food service Consultants Society International (FCSI). Gladys oversees the clinical dietetic services and is consultant to the Foodservice dept.
She was a Council Member of the Diabetic Society of Singapore (DSS) and the Singapore Association of the Study of Diabetes (SASO) for numerous years. She has been an active member of the Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association (SNDA) and served as President and Treasurer on various periods. Gladys has delivered numerous professional and public talks and workshops relating to a wide variety of nutrition-related topics.
She has special interest in diabetes management, disease-risk prevention education for the community and medical education for the healthcare professional. In recent years, she has become more involved in pedagogical frameworks, e-Learning and interactive/social mediums as a means of communication to the patients and public at large.
