Giuseppe Cardillo FRCS, FETCS

Graduated at the Catholic University of Rome, Giuseppe Cardillo worked as a fellow in the Dept. of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. In 1993 he became a staff member at the Unit of Thoracic surgery, Carlo Forlanini Hospital, Azienda Ospedaliera San Camillo Forlanini in Rome, where he works now as Consultant Thoracic Surgeon. Previously (2007) he was appointed as locum consultant thoracic surgeon at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester (UK). He obtained his FRCS and FETCS. He is the chair of the EACTS working group on pleural diseases and is also the chair of the ERS task force on pneumothorax. He is the chair of the local committee(Azienda Ospedaliera San Camillo Forlanini, Rome) of the lung cancer screening programme Cosmos 2. His main interest are: lung cancer screening, lung surgery after induction treatment, thymus surgery, Pneumothorax, minimally invasive lobectomy, Pleural diseases.
