Giuliana Simonazzi MD

Dr. Giuliana Simonazzi is currently working as an Associate professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Bologna, she works as medical director at the Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine Unit of the S.Orsola Malpighi Polyclinic in Bologna. She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1999 and in 2004 specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the same University. In 2003 she was a research fellow in maternal fetal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia (PA, USA). In 2007 you filed the patent entitled "Method and kit for the prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease" at the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna. In 2008 you obtained the title of PhD in Maternal, Child and Developmental Medicine at the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna.

From 2012 to 2018 she was a researcher in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences of the University of Bologna. She deals with maternal-fetal medicine, with particular attention to infections contracted during pregnancy and prenatal diagnosis of congenital malformations. She is the author of numerous scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. She was a member of the board of the Italian Society of Obstetric and Gynecological Ultrasound (SIEOG). She is the coordinator of the Degree Course in Obstetrics and teacher of the Degree Course in Obstetrics, of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery, of the Specialization School in Gynecology and Obstetrics of the University of Bologna. You are a member of the teaching board of the Doctorate in General Medical Sciences and Service Sciences of the University of Bologna. You have obtained the national scientific qualification as a first-level professor for the scientific disciplinary sector MED / 40 (Gynecology and Obstetrics).
