Gita Sharam BSc, MSc, PhD

Prof. Gita Sharma has about 40 years of research and teaching experience in molecular biology, immunology and virology. Prof. Sharma has had a major role in establishment of the the Department of Microbiology, Osmania University in 1974. She is presently engaged in enabling affordable diagnostics and molecular genetics to the general public at Tapadia Diagnostics. She was instrumental in developing the technology for Shanvac and Shanferon at Shantha Biotech. In addi-tion, Prof. Sharma has had successful work stints at Zydus Research Centre, Magene LifeSciences, Claris LifeSciences and Xceleris Genomics lab. With about 50 publications, seven patents and over 250 presentations in international and national seminars, sympo-sia and workshop, Prof. Sharma has guided 10 PhD students.
