Giovanni B. Frisoni

Giovanni Frisoni was educated in Brescia and Parma, Italy. In 1986, he obtained a degree cum laude in medicine and surgery, and in 1990, a specialization in neurology. Founder, with other doctors, of the Alzheimer's Unit at Brescia Hospital - which has since become the National Center for Alzheimer's Disease (IRCCS) Fatebenefratelli - there he was Head of the Psychogeriatrics Department and responsible for the Alzheimer Day Hospital.

Giovanni Frisoni was created in 1999, within the IRCCS, the laboratory of epidemiology in neuroimaging and telemedicine (LENITEM), and the Unit of translational care; he was also, from 2013 to 2015, the Scientific Director of the IRCCS. Principal researcher of several projects at the European and international level, he has also held technical and scientific positions in numerous researches. His work focuses on the translation into clinical practice of fundamental discoveries in neuroimaging. He was appointed Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine in September 2013.
