Gilles Paintaud is a Professor of clinical pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine of Tours and in the Department of Medical Pharmacology of Tours University Hospital, France. He is a Member of the Inserm research unit UMR1327 Ischemia. He is a physician and he started as a gastroenterologist before moving to pharmacology. His PhD from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. He has been working on the pharmacokinetics of therapeutic antibodies since 2001 and coordinates the only French Reference Medical Laboratory for therapeutic drug monitoring of monoclonal antibodies. His research focuses on the interindividual variability of the response to monoclonal antibodies, using in-house ELISA techniques and population pharmacokinetic and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) modeling.
