Gianpiero Tamburini, MD, is a Professor of Neurosurgery, Pediatric Neurosurgery, at the Institute of Neurosurgery, Catholic University Medical School, and Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli IRCSS, Rome, Italy, and the Chief, Congenital Malformations Unit, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli IRCSS, Rome, Italy (Gianpiero Tamburini).

Dr. Tamburini has served as the Chairman of the Communication Committee of the ISPN, Treasurer of the ISPN, Secretary of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN), Chairman of the Education Committee of the ISPN, Co-Chairman of the Education Committee of the ESPN, Treasurer of the ESPN, and Vice-Chairman of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Committee of the World Federation of Neurological Societies (WFNS). Gianpiero currently is the President-Elect of ESPN and the Secretary of the ISPN.He is the Editor of the Controversy in the Neurosurgery Section of the journal Child’s Nervous System and the Main Editor for the Pediatric Neurosurgery Section of the journal Turkish Neurosurgery. He is the Section Editor of the Vascular Disorders Section of the ISPN Guide. He is also a Co-Editor of the textbook Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Dr. Tamburini has been the Yusuf Ersahin Honoured Lecturer on Pediatric Neurosurgery, Antalya, Turkey, and the Kemali Baykaner Honoured Lecturer on Pediatric Neurosurgery, Antalya, Turkey. He has participated as Faculty in more than 40 international pediatric neurosurgery courses (ESPN, ISPN, WFNS, International Federation of Neuroendoscopy), giving 130 lectures. Gianpiero has been the author of 169 international publications in peer-reviewed journals and of 25 international book chapters.
