Gianni Bisogno is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics at the University of Padova, Consultant Pediatric Oncologist and Head of the Solid Tumor and New Drugs Program at the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, University Hospital of Padova. Coordinator of the PhD course in Developmental Medicine and Health Planning Sciences, University of Padova. Clinical and research activity is mainly dedicated to childhood solid tumors. Coordinator of the Italian Soft Tissue Sarcoma Committee (STSC). In these years, the STSC has progressively increased its activity with the launch of clinical trials and the creation of a multidisciplinary team that supports pediatric oncology centers by providing a central review of diagnosis, molecular biology characterization, and advice on difficult cases. Founding members of the European pediatric Soft tissue sarcoma Study Group (EpSSG) and EpSSG Chair (2013-2019) and PI of the RMS2005 trial.

Founder and among the coordinators of the TREP (Tumori rare in età pediatrica) project, a network established in 2000 to promote research in favor of children with very rare tumors. Similar initiatives have been subsequently adopted by other European countries leading to the foundation of EXPeRT (European Cooperative Study for Pediatric Rare Tumors) in June 2008 in Padova. Founder and leader of a team dedicated to managing all aspects of profit and no-profit trials on new drugs in ped oncology. Leader or partner in several projects supported by different Institutions (Fondazione Citta della Speranza, Ministry of Health, AIRC), including EU-funded projects such as EPOC, ENCCA, and EXPORNET. Coordinator of PARTNER, a project recently funded by the EU to create a European registry dedicated to pediatric very rare tumors. Total funds raised over 3 million euro
