Prof. Gianluca Franceschini was born in Civitavecchia on June 16, 1970. He is an Associate Professor of General Surgery at the University Department of Translational Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart since January 1, 2017. He is Head of the Simple Departmental Operative Unit of "Onco-Plastic Surgery" of breast cancer, in the Department of "Sciences of the health of women, children and public health" of the “Agostino Gemelli” University Hospital Foundation IRCCS of Rome since July 1, 2021. He is a Professor for the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery “A. Gemelli " of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome in the single-cycle degree course in Medicine and Surgery, the Degree Course in Obstetrics, in the Degree Course in Audiprosthetic Techniques, in the Specialization School Courses in Medical Oncology, Surgery-General, and Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, in PhD Schools. Over the years he has gained particular expertise in the surgical treatment of breast tumors and in particular in the use of oncoplastic surgery techniques. He is the author of over 200 publications in national and international journals concerning breast pathology. He is a certified effective member of the Italian College of Scientologists and a member of the Italian National Association of Scientologists and Surgeons (ANISC). He was appointed Scientific Director of the Senology Department of the UniverSalus University Consortium founded by the Lumia University and the Humanitas University Consortium on 1 October 2020.
