Giacomo Ariani, MSc, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Brain and Mind Institute at the Western University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts
in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Trento, in Rovereto, writing an experimental thesis on the study of Anticipatory Postural Adjustments (APAs) under the supervision of Francesco Pavani and Claudia Bonfiglioli.
In 2010 he enrolled in the international Master's course in Cognitive Science, an English-based program of the University of Trento, in Rovereto. His first experience of working in an international research environment came during the second year of that program when he joined Lingnau's lab and completed his thesis on an eye-tracking investigation of human biological motion perception.
For his Ph.D., he moved to Rovereto to continue working with Angelika Lingnau, as a student of the CIMeC Doctoral School in Cognitive and Brain Sciences. His Ph.D. work was centered on uncovering neural representations of movement plans in the human brain.
